I'm Busy

The dialogue for this piece goes: 
“Mama play with me,” pleaded the baby alien.
            “I’m sorry Asamus, I have work to do. Maybe later,” I said with a pang of guilt knowing it was unlikely. “Come play beside me and I’ll watch.” The child plays with the doll and firetruck next to me making siren noises and pretend screams. I hesitantly look down at my drawing and begin to focus again.
